Business Systems for Solopreneurs: From Chaos to Clarity
Building a business as a solopreneur can create incredible freedom and flexibility. It can also come with self-doubt, overwhelm, loneliness, and a whole lot of figuring things out as you go. I recently joined Becky Lyter McCleery of The Solopreneur Sisterhood for a Gather & Grow Virtual Conference contributor interview to talk about entrepreneurship, business systems, community, and creating a business that actually supports your life.
You Already Have More Business Skills Than You Think
Before becoming an Online Business Manager, I spent 15 years as a math teacher. When I started my business as a virtual assistant, I didn't come from a traditional business background, but I quickly realized that many of the skills I had spent years using in other areas of my life were exactly the skills I needed to build a business.
In our conversation, Becky and I talk about recognizing those transferable skills, learning to trust yourself, finding people you can turn to when you don't know the answer, and continuing to move forward even when entrepreneurship gets hard.
Because you don't have to know everything before you start. You need to be willing to learn, ask for help, and figure out what works for you.
Simple Systems Can Reduce the Overwhelm
We also talk about one of my favorite topics which is getting all the things you're trying to remember out of your head. Your business and personal tasks shouldn't live across notebooks, sticky notes, your phone, your inbox, and your brain. A simple task management and organization system can reduce your mental load and give you one place to see what needs to happen next no matter if youβre a business owner, homeschooling mama, or just someone with way to much to do every day!
That's exactly what we'll work on during my hands-on From Chaos to Clarity: Organization and Task Management Tools that Support Your Business and Life workshop at the Gather & Grow Virtual Conference.
Instead of leaving the conference with another list of things you should do someday, you'll start doing the work during the workshop. We'll identify what's taking up space in your head and begin building a task management system that works with the way you think, work, and live.
If you're building a business on your own, you don't need more chaos. You need systems that make running your business easier and leave room for the life you're building it for. Save your spot at the Gather & Grow Virtual Conference here.
